The Next POTUS

I came up with this scenario a few weeks ago, but now that Donald Trump has publicly insinuated violence against Hillary Clinton, i felt that i’d better spell out my thoughts.

1. Trump and Clinton debate. She humiliates him with facts and knowledge.
2. The next day, Trump makes some vague statement about wanting to “take out” Clinton.
3. Some rabid fanatic heeds the call and either kills or injures Clinton to the point where she cannot continue as the nominee.
4. Trump is shunned and the Republicans scramble to field another candidate, probably John Kasich, but Trump refuses to bow out of the race.
5. The Democrats attempt to install Tim Kaine as the nominee but the Sanders supporters override their wishes and Bernie Sanders gets on the ballot.
6. The Republican vote is split, “Bernie or Bust”ers turn out in droves, half the Trump supporters either don’t show up on election day or vote for Sanders.
7. Bernie Sanders is the next president of the United States.
