I decided to take and post a picture every day in January 2020. Since Instagram only works on mobile devices, all the pictures were taken with my iPhone 6 instead of my SLR camera. The only limitation on this project was that i wanted to emulate Henri Cartier-Bresson, who shot all of his pictures from his view—meaning that he didn’t stoop or crawl around to find an angle, he simply took a picture from where he was standing.
First picture, January 1, 2020, 2:15 PM. For the first six days, i only took one picture each day. After that i was taking two or three and picking one, mostly because i wanted to have a shot “in the bank” in case i didn’t have time or my phone died later in the day.

January 5, 2020, 8:43 AM. Sitting in the Base68 base lodge at Okemo, waiting for lessons.
January 6, 2020, 8:33 AM. I walk past this barrier every morning while walking from the parking lot up to the ski school locker room.

January 8, 2020, 1:31 PM. I felt that this photo wasn’t quite Cartier-Bresson-ish because i was looking up as i took it.

January 14, 2020, 11:17 AM. I took this in the middle of a snowboard lesson.
January 15, 2020, 1:10 PM. Halfway there. I left the house today just to get out in the sun to take a picture.
January 16, 2020, 8:35 AM. My friend Jamie slid off the road near my house this morning and i got the local farmers to pull her out with their big front-end loader.

January 22, 2020, 10:37 AM. I’d been wanting to take a picture of these post office boxes since starting this project. This is the only picture i took today. (There’s nothing in my box.)

January 24, 2020, 2:50 PM. I walked over to the Mill River from my house when i got home just to take a few pictures.
January 25. 2020, 3:25 PM. Taken during a snowboard lesson (the little girl directly in front of me).
January 26, 2020, 7:18 AM. Nice sunrise this morning. I stopped by the side of the road to get out and take a couple pictures.
January 27, 2020, 4:46 PM. Spent the day at Killington, snowboarding with an AASI Level 3 prep clinic.
